Lars I. Lorentzon, 85

Lars I. Lorentzon, 85, of Skaneateles, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Upstate University Hospital at Community General. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1957 and loved watching his Syracuse Orangemen play basketball.  He was a stamp collector, master woodworker and in the 1950s was on the ski patrol. Loved skiing in Austria. Lars and his wife Nancy moved to Skaneateles, in 1998 from Far Rockaway, N.Y. He was a member at Dutch Hollow country club – commonly known as “ball washer Lars.” He was a member of the Adirondack 46er Club 736 out of 9,425. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time golfing with his family.
Oh, and let’s not forget how much he loved a cold beer.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Nancy B. Lorentzon, his children Eric Lorentzon, Julie Lorentzon, Karin Lorentzon Rivale and Gary Rivale, his sister Anne Kyle and grandchildren Brock and Maria Lorentzon and Lauryn Rivale. Lars was predeceased by a sister, Inga Childs.
Services are private. He will be buried in Lake view Cemetery, Skaneateles.
