The Lysander Democratic Committee (LDC) is currently planning its schedule for this year. The LDC meets at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of every month at the Presbyterian Christian Education Center at 64 Oswego St. in Baldwinsville. The meetings are open to registered Democrats or those wishing to register as Democrats that live in the town of Lysander.
Events already on the calendar include a welcome and fundraiser for Lysander Democrats in May at Dani’s Dessert and Wine Bar in Baldwinsville, marching in the Memorial Day Parade, interviewing candidates to run in the Nov. 7 town election, and a caucus to select candidates in June. Elected positions we will be looking for Democrats to fill are: town councilor (2), town clerk, town justice and highway superintendent.
Democrats are answering the call to get involved at the local level, and we are encouraged with the increased interest in the Lysander Democratic Committee. The LDC is always open to new participants and encourages involvement in our community. We need representation from every corner of Lysander, and there is room for you to help shape the future of our town!
At LDC meetings, we discuss upcoming projects and events and issues facing the community. Sub-committees are forming, so if you have a talent, skill, or ideas, your input is welcome. If you are interested getting more involved, please join us at our next meeting on Thursday April 13.
