To the editor:
I read the letter from Legislator Tim Burtis seeking reelection this fall and am writing to show my support. He has served our community well. Throughout his term, he has shown fiscal responsibility. Instead of voting “no” on every topic, he consciously reviewed and lent his support to issues that need addressing, while also helping to reduce our county taxes. He voted “no” on the much-discussed pay increase that legislators received and, according to his website, gave it all to charity instead of accepting it, plus paid back the full amount, causing him a net loss. That sense of integrity and moral courage are what we need in the legislature and I encourage others to give him their vote.
