Ryan Homes is making headway on the proposed Marion Meadows development on Ellsworth Road behind Van Buren Town Hall. The project, which the town of Van Buren approved in 2010, will create 90 single-family homes and two apartment buildings totaling 48 units.
“They’ve started clearing the trees off the site,” said Town Supervisor Claude Sykes, adding that the developer hopes to begin laying pipe soon and expects to have a model of the development built by January 2015.
Meanwhile, the town is waiting to install sewage pump stations for Marion Meadows.
“Once we see some action and we see a shovel in the ground, we’re going to go to bid for the sewage pumping stations,” Sykes said.
Sykes told The Baldwinsville Messenger earlier this year that he expects Marion Meadows to be completed in four to five years.
Representatives from Ryan Homes did not return calls seeking comment.
