The charges followed an investigation that determined Bennett and Beck extorted more than $100,000 from an elderly East Syracuse man over the last year.

The two were arraigned in the Town of DeWitt Court on Sept. 28, and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center.  Beck was held in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 secure bond, while no bail was placed on Bennett.
