Minoa residents John and Christina Hodges have transformed the iconic hardware store in the heart of the village into a new café and yoga studio. Spill The Tea Café and Infusion Yoga opened their doors with a ribbon cutting earlier this month.
“I think it’s going to be a great asset for our village,” said Minoa Mayor Bill Brazill. “It’s a nice shot in the arm.”
The new endeavor replaces Greiner’s Hardware Store at 208 N. Main Street, which had a dual purpose of serving as both a general store and a place where village residents could catch up on the sidewalk for conversation and cup of coffee, Brazill said. He sees the new café as a place that can fill that void of a casual place for Minoans to meet up and discuss the day’s events.
The cafe offers a variety of coffee and tea blends, both served on site as well as to purchase for brewing at home. A full selection of pastries and baked treats as well as locally sourced products like honey are also for sale at the café.
In the loft in the back of the building is Infusion Yoga, where a variety of instructors will teach yoga and pilates classes once COVID-19 restrictions are removed.
The entire space has been renovated for a chic upscale look that highlights the decorative tin ceiling of the building, which was constructed in 1920.
