SKANEATELES — St. James’ Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles will be offering Ashes to Go on Ash Wednesday March 2 from noon to 2 p.m. outside in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot located at 97 E. Genesee St.
Masked clergy will be available for those in cars as well as those who walk up on the side walk. Ashes to Go used to be a quick way for Lenten followers to receive ashes when schedules did not permit time to attend a whole worship service.
This year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ashes to Go is also a safe and efficient way for those who are not comfortable attending in-person Lenten worship services.
All are welcome to come during the noon to 2 p.m. time and receive ashes.
St. James’ Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church are working ecumenically to reach out into the community and meet the needs of those being left behind due to health concerns, schedule, newer to the community or uncomfortable indoors.
Skaneateles has always been a friendly and welcoming community with easy access to the downtown.
Ashes to Go will be offered conveniently just one block away from the main downtown shopping area.
