On May 31, the Crouse Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Little Fighters campaign will benefit from the philanthropic spirit at The Krebs from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Joining the Krebs bartenders for a guest appearance at the bar will be Kimberly Boynton, President and CEO of Crouse Health, Mac Cummings, CEO and Co-Founder of Terakeet, David Landsberg MD, Critical Care at Crouse Health, Ellen Bifano MD, Neonatology at Crouse Health and Eileen Price, AXA Advisor at Price Miller Associates. The Krebs, located at 53 W Genesee Street in Skaneateles, will be hosting the charity events in the bar with all cash gratuity being donated to the benefitting organization. The Krebs is encouraging media and guests to come enjoy time with friends while supporting a good cause.
“We are so honored to host these charity bartending events for two remarkable organizations. People turn to the Vincent House, Red Cross and Crouse NICU in their time of need and we are honored to help raise money for them,” commented Kim Weitsman, owner of The Krebs restaurant. “All of the cash tips generated from the events will go directly to the charity organizations and we encourage everyone to come out and support a great cause while enjoying quality time with friends and family.”
The Vincent House is a comfort care home for those who have irreversible illnesses and have been medically determined to be in the last three months of their lives. Vincent House, which officially opened on December 4, 2000, is staffed by an executive director, a part-time nurse and several night staff. Their volunteers, which are the lifeblood of the operation, cover most of the hours from 8:00 a.m. to midnight in four-hour shifts. A Board of Directors oversees the operation of Vincent House.
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Last year, the Western and Central New York Red Cross provided temporary housing, food, clothing and support for 1,397 families after fires and other disasters, installed 4,461 free smoke alarms while helping families create escape plans, and trained 69,562 people in lifesaving First Aid/CPR/AED and other Health and Safety Courses.
More than four decades ago, Crouse Hospital introduced its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Today, the NICU at Crouse has grown to become the premier -and highest leveI- NICU in the region. And they continue to grow, with a dedicated staff of renowned neonatologists, nurses and pediatric specialists who care for more than 1,000 infants annually from an area that stretches north to Canada and south to the Pennsylvania border. The NICU is celebrating 40 years of intensive caring for the region’s tiniest premature and critically ill newborns and their families.
