Since May 23, no one has seen or heard from Edward Weslowski.

Now, in hopes of bringing the Clay man home, his family is offering a reward for information leading to his whereabouts.

Weslowski, 71, was last seen in the living room of his Allen Road home by family members around 11 p.m. Thursday, May 22. He was gone the next morning.

“He was having some health issues,” said son Todd Weslowski. “[He was diagnosed with] early onset dementia, and he had some problems with anxiety and insomnia.”

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department reported that he was spotted walking eastbound on Bear Road in the early morning hours of May 23. However, a ground search May 24 turned up no leads, and no information has since been forthcoming.

In order to try to get more information, the Weslowski family is offering a $3,000 reward for any information that might lead to Edward Weslowski’s whereabouts.

“Some people pay more attention when money’s involved,” Todd Weslowski said. “It’s sad to say that, but it seems to be that way.”

Weslowski said the family has been devastated by his father’s disappearance.

“He’s a good guy – a caring, concerned, loving family man,” he said. “Obviously, he’d never done anything like this before. We’re totally dazed by it.”

Edward Weslowski is described as 5’10” tall and weighing about 165 pounds, though his son said his appearance could have changed during the three and a half months he’s been missing. He has brown hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt. He has family ties to Oneida and Otsego counties.
