The Skaneateles indoor track and field team had one more outing prior to the holiday break, earning some points during last Saturday’s CNY Indoor Track Association Christmas Relays at Hamilton College.
On the girls side, the Lakers earned 30 points and tied CBA for fifth place. Liverpool (76 points) edged Cicero-North Syracuse (75 points) for the top spot.
Victoria Sakal won the 55-meter dash in 7.78 seconds and teamed with Grace Kelly to earn first place with a combined clocking of 16.06 seconds.
Cassie Berg and Sophie Gorman combined to take third place in the 300-meter dash (1:35.98), while Amanda Gray and Eileen Ford claimed third in the 600-meter relay in 3:37.96.
Eileen and Emma Ford were fourth in the high jump (8 feet 10 inches), with Gray and Carly Strods fifth in the 400-meter relay (2:16.94). Also, the Lakers were sixth in the 1,000-meter run (6:58.77) and shot put, where Erica Tardiff and Sarah Sawyer had combined throws of 49 feet 6 1/2 inches.
In the boys Christmas Relays, Calvin Davis won the individual 600-meter run, his time of 1:27.77 just enough to hold off Tully teammates Tom Haskins (1:28.15) and Ohure Sam (1:28.24) to prevail. The Lakers were also fourth in the pole vault, with Taylor Weyneth and Tim Lewis combining to clear 17 feet 6 inches.
