MARCELLUS- The members and friends of the First Presbyterian Church of Marcellus recently announced the reopening of the sanctuary, located on the corner of E. Main Street and North Street in Marcellus.
The church has been closed for almost one year due to the COVID-19 safety concerns worldwide.
Despite the building being closed, worship has been available online, and the congregation has continued with many of the mission tasks that are an integral part of the church mission.
“In October, we were pleased to welcomed Reverend Brian Copeland as our new pastor,,” the church said in a pres srelease. “Reverend Copeland has helped further our online services, available on YouTube for all to share, and leads the church in services and mission. Additionally, he also leads a daily devotional online-a wonderful way to join in a daily celebration of faith. We look forward to joining Rev. Brian in the sanctuary.”
The church invites anyone interested to join in the celebration of the service when it resumes March 21.
“All are welcome to visit and join in the service at First Presbyterian, beginning again at 10 a.m. on March 21,” the press release said. “While COVID-19 is still active, we will be following safety standards for the protection of all. Measures include health screening, mask requirements, and social distancing. For safety reasons, we will not be re-starting our beautiful music program yet, but do look forward to doing that as the virus abates.”
Anyone with questions, or wishing to join in the service should call the church at 315-673-2201.

“Please share in the joy of worship service. All are welcome, and we look forward to seeing old friends and new,” the release said.
