Skaneateles’ Evans Earns Multiple All-America Honors
Skaneateles High School’s Emily Evans recently earned prestigious honors while competing for the Upstate NY team in the Command division at the All-America Lacrosse National Championships. The sophomore led all goalies in the tournament with 20 total saves and was named to both the All-America National Championship All-Tournament team and All-North Super Regional team.
Widely considered the most elite tournament on the national high school lacrosse calendar, the All-America games attract all-star teams from 12 regions and are comprised of players from the graduating classes of 2021-2024 and are. After being delayed earlier in the summer due to COVID-19 precautions, the tournament was postponed to October 17th at the Princess Anne Athletic Complex in Virginia Beach, VA.
Evans’ Upstate NY squad dropped two one-goal contests versus Long Island and New England before falling to New England for a second time in the consolation bracket. She notched an impressive eight saves in one half of play versus New England in pool play.
As an eighth-grade starter in the cage she led the Skaneateles JV team to a 13-2 record in the spring of 2019.
