Cazenovia Democrats have nominated incumbent Village Trustee Amy Weber Mann to run for re-election in the village elections on June 20.
Mann was first elected to the village board in 2009, and re-elected in 2011, 2013 and 2015. She currently serves as deputy mayor, public works commissioner and tree commissioner. In addition, she chairs the Carpenter’s Barn Restoration Committee and serves as the primary liaison for the Lakeland Park Master Plan project.
During her eight years on the board, Mann has also served as police commissioner, parks and recreation commissioner and sat on the Lake Watershed Committee. She was instrumental in setting up the village’s lake steward program at the Lakeside Park boat launch.
Mann grew up in Cazenovia and returned to raise her family. She is a 1985 graduate of Cazenovia Central School and a 1989 graduate of Amherst College. She worked for 10 years in trust and financial services prior to entering public service. Amy lives in the village with her husband, Kevin, and her two sons, Henry and Charlie.
“For me, [being a trustee] has been the ultimate way to give back to the community that raised me. It has been an education from the get-go, and I have had the pleasure of getting to know so many members of our community and to work with an incredibly talented village staff,” Mann said. “I am proud of how engaged our community is, and I would be honored to continue my service for another term.”
