Nearly 50 Cazenovia student musicians and singers in grades 5 through 12 performed in the annual Madison County Music Educators Association’s Spring All-County Music Festival, which was held March 13 and 14 at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School.
Students auditioned in January for placement in the featured ensembles, which included the fifth- and sixth-grade band, the seventh- and eighth-grade chorus, the high school chorus and the high school orchestra.
“I thought the performances went really well. We had student musicians representing grades 5 through 12 in this festival and they demonstrated what a strong music program we have in Cazenovia,” said Kathy Dinardo, Cazenovia band teacher. “Our orchestra, band and chorus students spent several weeks practicing and preparing for the festival and as usual, did an outstanding job. They are among the best musicians in Madison County and we are very proud of them.”
