The Manlius Historical Society will be hosting its annual Festival of Miniature Trees fundraiser Dec. 1 to 15. Individuals, groups and businesses from the community have created festive trees and displays for every taste and budget for people in the community to bet on to take home to decorate their home or to give as a gift.
A special “Preview Party” is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 at the society’s Manlius Museum, 101 Scoville Avenue, and the Cheney House Research Center, 109 Pleasant St., in Manlius.
Wine, refreshments and holiday music will provide a wonderful backdrop to the silent-auction fundraiser. If you plan to attend the Preview Party, RSVP to [email protected] or 682-6660 by Nov. 25.
Following the Preview Party, the trees will be on display through Dec. 15 at the following times: 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 1 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 2 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Special events in December also include “A Christmas Tea” on Saturday, Dec. 3 and a reading from “Another Christmas Carol” by local author, Lee Woodard, on Saturday, Dec. 10. Both events will run from 3 to 5 p.m.
Admission for all events is free and open to the public. Donations to help cover costs will be gratefully accepted. For more information, visit the MHS website at manliushistory.org, email [email protected] or phone 682-6660.
