Jerry Bisson Memorial 5K Highlights Annual Fundraiser, registration now open
The fifth annual Fay-Man Day of Races, which is a fundraiser for the FM All Sports Booster Club, will be held on Sunday, July 24, at Fayetteville-Manlius High school. The event, which includes the Jerry Bisson Memorial 5k and a 1-mile Cross Country Fun Run, is open to runners and walkers of all ages. Participants can register now online at fayman.org.
The Fay-Man Day of Races drew nearly 400 participants in 2015, and has raised over $40,000 since it began in 2012. All proceeds from the Fay-Man Day of Races go to the FM Booster Club General Fund to be available for use by all sports teams and facilities.
The Muddy Hornet Obstacle Race, which was added to the Day of Races in 2013, will not be part of the event this year.
For the second consecutive year, the Jerry Bisson Memorial 5k will honor the late Jerry Bisson, who passed away in April 2015. An avid runner and a long-time supporter of the FM All Sports Booster Club and the FM running program, Jerry was a Fay-Man Day of Races volunteer and participant.
Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome. Both races will start and finish at Fayetteville-Manlius High School student parking lot. Registration check-in opens at 7:30 a.m. The 1-mile Cross Country Fun Run will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the Jerry Bisson Memorial 5k at 9:30 a.m.
To pre-register for the Fay-Man day of races, go to fayman.org.
Fees are as follows: 5K – $30 through July 22, $35 on race day; One Mile Cross Country Fun Run – $15. All runners registered by July 13 are guaranteed to receive a free Fay-Man Day of Races T-shirt. After July 13, T-shirts will be available while supplies last.
