On My Own Time, presented by CNY Arts in partnership with the Everson Museum of Art, spotlights the often unsung artistic talents of members of the local workforce. Central New York employers participate to support individual creativity as a characteristic that contributes to professional and personal success and enriches the community. One hundred and seventy-two employees displayed 370 works at their companies’ on-site exhibits this past spring. The exhibits were adjudicated by a panel of volunteer arts professionals, who selected 60 outstanding works created from wide-ranging media, such as watercolors and oils, ceramics, wood work, photography, fiber art, and sculpture.
Over 200 people attended a preview reception held for the artists and their colleagues, friends and family on Oct. 2. CNY Arts Executive Director Stephen Butler, Everson Museum of Art President and CEO Elizabeth Dunbar and New York State Senator John DeFrancisco spoke at the event to honor the participating artists and employers.
