A new exhibit from Cazenovia photographer Brooke T. Ryan is now up at Common Grounds and will be on view for the month of February.
Ryan was born in Cazenovia and began photographing at age 12, when her dad gave her a World War II-era rangefinder camera. In high school, she was a National Scholastic Art Awards Portfolio Nominee, and a recipient of two Regional Scholastic Gold Key Awards. In college, Brooke majored in art to prepare for a career as a fine art photographer, but she switched paths and instead earned a Master of Science in health services administration.
Ryan said her photography “captures the simple magic of an ordinary day, views that may otherwise go unnoticed, while on local hikes and during travels in the U.S. and abroad.” While she strives to take photos using natural light and manual camera settings to obtain ideal exposures, she said she also makes photographic art using Photoshop, multiple images, textures and creative techniques.
In 2017, Brooke was accepted as a contributor of creative stock photography for Arcangel Images, and to Artfinder, where she offers a collection of black and white, limited edition photography. She is a Juried Artist Member of the Cape Cod Art Center. Ryan sells her work through several online venues, and her photographs are in private collections around the world.
All the framed photos in the Common Grounds exhibit are for sale and can also be purchased as prints in many sizes either directly through her online shop at etsy.com/shop/brookeryanphoto or via email [email protected].
