ONONDAGA COUNTY – An entire season of girls golf in the Salt City Athletic Conference Metro division has led to this Thursday’s match between Cicero-North Syracuse Blue and Fayetteville-Manlius Green at Lakeshore Country Club.
The two undefeated sides stayed that way last week, C-NS Blue getting a second win over Liverpool last Monday at Lakeshore with an impressive 181-237 effort.
Having won 149-178 at Hickory Hills in April, the Northstars here got a 41 from Isabella Borte and a 42 from Jessica Ricciardi to top the individual standings.
Aubrey Panto, with a 48, and Natalie Hacker, with a 50, both topped the low Liverpool round of 55 from Melanie Biviano. Maddie Turck shot 56, with Emma Fenwick adding a 57 and Chloe Jaquin a 68.
on Thursday, C-NS Blue met C-NS Green and Blue prevailed 179-257, the individual race again going to Borte thanks to her second consecutive 41 as Ricciardi earned a 43.
Hacker finished third at 46, followed by a 49 from Chloe Tice. Lauren Sisk’s 62 led C-NS Green as Melanie Dolson (64), Katie Bouziden (65) and Jillian Bambino (66) closely followed.
Liverpool had, back on Tuesday afternoon, shot 129 in a three-team match at Greens at Beaumont to beat out both C-NS Green’s183 and the 147 posted by West Genesee.
Individually, Ella Foriero and Jewelyana Daniels both posted 33 to beat out Fenwick’s 34. For the Northstars, Lauren Sisk shot 45, ahead of Grace Didrio, Demi Puma (46 each) and Isabella Serant (47).
Then Liverpool prevailed again on Wednesday, topping F-M’s younger White squad 164-174 led by Biviano’s 39 and Foriero’s 40 that equaled the Hornets’ low round by Claire Zerrillo. Chloe Jaquin stepped up with a 50, while Alyssa Henderson and Breanna Puccia both posted 55.
Even bigger than all of this was Liverpool facing Baldwinsville on Friday at Hickory Hills and winning a 163-164 thriller to avenge a close defeat to the Bees earlier this season.
Peyton Kowalski’s 37 for B’ville topped all individuals, two ahead of the 39 from Biviano. Turck shot a 40, tying Eva Pawelek for third place.
Hayley Rocker’s 41 put her in fifth place for B’ville, but the 42s shot by Foriero and Fenwick made up the ground ahead of a 46 by the Bees’ Amelia Hahn.
