MANLIUS – A week removed from a lopsided Dec. 14 defeat to Liverpool, the Baldwinsville wrestling team had a far better outcome against another Salt City Athletic Conference Metro division rival.
The Bees went to Fayetteville-Manlius Wednesday night and, leading from the outset, was in control as it went on to defeat the Hornets 46-27.
In the opening bout at 132 pounds, Michael Spinner pinned Luis Rivera. Keagan Hayes followed at 138 pounds with a 12-2 win over Harrison Schwab as Olusegen Gbengbe, at 145 pounds, earned a pin against Paul Cange.
Davian McLeod (152 pounds) fell to Michael Leffkowicz 7-1 and Michael Fults lost at 160 pounds, but Aaron Fredenburg’s pin of Ulf Kreshpaj at 172 pounds ended the F-M run.
Judson Ferris (189 pounds) claimed a forfeit as, late in the meet, Cael Bruce (102 pounds) pinned Athan Dauszka, Brennan Kline (110 pounds) did the same to Graham Dauszka and Collin Zeman, at 126 pounds, closed with a fall over Eric Kozlowski.
B’ville is at home next Wednesday for a meet against Oswego, then is off until a Jan. 11 match against Cicero-North Syracuse.
