CICERO – Eight days had passed since the Baldwinsville boys golf team ended up on the wrong end of a sixth-player tie-breaker after tying West Genesee 187-187.
Now in search of a high-profile victory, the Bees traveled last Thursday to Lakeshore Country Club for a battle against 5-0 Cicero-North Syracuse Blue, who ended up solidifying its place atop the Salt City Athletic Conference Metro division standings.
B’ville lost, 202-209, with just one player, Aidan Farmer, breaking 40 for nine holes. Farmer’s 39 tied him for second place with the Northstars’ Kaeden Hacker, each of them trailing the 38 from C-NS Blue’s Sean Lawler.
Trey Ordway got a 41, but Devon Kellogg and Jack Wolanski also landed on that number for the Northstars, while Austin McClintic, Nate MacGregor and Aiden Motala each shot 43, tying the clinching score by C-NS Blue’s Drew Kippen.
A rematch between these two teams at Timber Banks caps next week’s action as B’ville also will take on both of the Fayetteville-Manlius teams, meeting F-M Green at the Cavalry Club and F-M White at Woodcrest.
