Though league competition had ended for the Baldwinsville boys golf team, two more matches remained against the best two sides in the Salt City Athletic Conference Empire division.
The Bees welcomed Jamesville-DeWitt to a rain-soaked Timber Banks last Tuesday afternoon, and both sides finished with a team score of 193.
Among individuals, Aidan Farmer and Trey Ordway both shot 37 for nine holes, tying for second, one behind the 36 put up by the Red Rams’ Punn Chittaratlert.
Then there were five rounds of 39 – two of them by the Bees’ Victor Ianno and Nate MacGregor, three from the Rams’ Tanner Burns, Julian Galletta and Blaise Anthis.
Billy Guild and Hunter Evans eached finished at 41 to help B’ville pull even as J-D had three players – Ian Delpha, Trey Jacobson and Mitchell Archer – finish with matching scores of 40.
Faring better on Thursday afternoon against Oswego, the Bees improved to 8-1-1 by putting together a 191-206 victory over the Buccaneers.
Farmer again shot 37, this time matched by Austin McClintic as the B’ville pair finished on top, two shots ahead of five different golfers.
Of those five, four of them Ianno, Guild, Alex Pompo and Will Shipman – were from the Bees, with only Neil Roman shooting 39 for Oswego as Bucs teammate Jack Hall added a 41, ahead of a 43 from Jack O’Leary and 44s from Kevin Waters and Zach Chamberlain.
