Kaye Lawton and Amory Francis were among the standouts for the Baldwinsville gymnastics team as it went to 2-0 on the season last Wednesday night, defeating Rome Free Academy.
On the way to a 123.70-111.90 victory, the Bees had Lawton finish with an all-around score of 31.3 and Francis close behind, scoring 30.5 all-around.
Lawton won on floor exercise with an 8.7 routine, beating out Sydney McKenney’s 8.5, while also claiming first place on the vault with 7.9.
Francis included an 8.4 on the floor and an 8.0 on balance beam, tied with teammate Ava Wazen in the latter of those events. Lauren Millard scored 7.7 on the vault and 7.0 on uneven bars.
Despite all this, RFA’s Haley Miller snared the all-around title, scoring 32.5, which included wins on the beam with 8.6 and uneven bars with 7.8.
B’ville will compete twice this week, taking on East Syracuse Minoa/Liverpool on Wednesday before a Friday meet at Whitesboro with New Hartford.
