Having lifted itself from an 0-2 start, the Christian Brothers Academy boys lacrosse team is starting to find the lethal form that makes another championship run plausible.
The state Class D no. 9-ranked Brothers faced Tully last Tuesday night and trudged through the snow to bash the Black Knights by a score of 15-5.
Preston Taylor led the way, scoring four times and adding an assist, while Sam Bonacci had a three-goal hat trick. Ryan Mackenzie had two goals and two assists as Wyatt Auyer finished with two goals and one assist.
Mike Adornato earned a goal and three assists, with Patrick O’Brien picking up one goal and two assists. Ian Henderson and Joey Matheson also earned goals as Alex Poindexter and Matt Ludington had one goal apiece.
CBA faced Buffalo’s Bishop Timon/St. Jude on Thursday night, yet another game played through the snow, but once again the Brothers would flourish, especially during the first half of a 20-6 romp over the Tigers.

In the middle of this stretch of six games in 14 days, CBA took on Brighton (Section V) Saturday and won big again, thought the issue was in a bit of doubt until five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter produced a 12-3 decision.

East Syracuse Minoa went on the road twice late in the week, starting with a Thursday trip to Oswego where the Spartans had little trouble putting together a 17-5 win over the Buccaneers.
It was already 14-1 by halftime, ESM seeing the Madonna brothers click quite well as Lance Madonna had five goals and two assists, with Derrek Madonna adding four goals and two assists.
