After the Cicero-North Syracuse bowling teams pulled off twin 2-1 victories over rival Liverpool on Jan. 11, both sides separated and piled up wins against other Salt City Athletic Conference Metro division foes.
C-NS met up with the combined Syracuse City team last Tuesday at Strike-N-Spare Lanes. During a 3-0 boys wins, the Northstars’ Zach Emm shot a 597 series, with Nick Bough’s 222 game leading to a 584 set. Tim Cloonan had a 209 game and J.J. O’Connell contributed a high game of 205.
The C-NS girls also won 3-0 over Syracuse as Carly Lescenski shot a 210 game, with Mikayla Drozdz and Kathlene Sauta each posting three-game totals of 349.
Action figured to pick up when Baldwinsville came to Strike-N-Spare on Thursday afternoon, and C-NS won both sides of this match, the boys pulling out a tough 2-1 decision over the Bees.
O’Connell led this time, his 658 series including a 245 high game as Cloonan shot a 235 game in his 648 set. Bough posted a 577 series (227 high game) and Emm added a 551 series. B’ville got a 644 series from Tanner Rozycko, just ahead of Jarod Napiorkowski (597 series), Chris Forbes (585 series) and Tanner Mento (569 series).
In its second 3-0 sweep of the week, the C-NS girls again had Lescenski at the helm as her 236 game led to a 599 series. Elianna Pitts helped, too, with a 209 game and 473 series as Brooke Flask (514 series) and Amelia Ponto (478 series) had B’ville’s top efforts.
At Solvay Recreation Alleys last Tuesday, Liverpool faced West Genesee, where it shut out the Wildcats 3-0 in the boys match.
Meanwhile, the Liverpool girls held off WG 2-1, led by Ashley Hardy, who steadily worked her way to a 607 series as Dailyn McCarthy had a 191 game in her 539 set. For the Wildcats, Gina Neri recorded a 452 series.
Liverpool then swept Syracuse in a pair of 3-0 decisions Thursday at Flamingo Bowl, with the boys Warriors improving its record to 11-2 overall, just behind C-NS in the SCAC Metro standings.
And when the Northstars took its turn against West Genesee Friday, it won again, 3-0, as Cloonan set the pace with a 682 series and high game of 246. Emm also had a 246 game during his 622 set as Bough got a 630 series that included a 238 high game.
During its own 3-0 victory over WG, the girls Northstars got another fine series from Lescenski, whose 202 game led to a 560 set. Sauta contributed a 487 series as Neri improved to a 540 series for the Wildcats.
