VILLAGE OF MANLIUS – The village of Manlius is prepping for its second annual Swan Fest, which will take place Oct. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m.
At the Village Centre and Amphitheater, the Pop Culture Band will play from 1 to 4 p.m. and Jeff the Magic Man will provide strolling magical entertainment from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
Throughout the festival, local artisans and vendors will display their wares and information tables will be set up for community businesses and organizations. At the Upper Swan Pond, children can try display their artistry with sidewalk chalk.
Food trucks from Bold Coast Lobster and Reckzo’s Dough will be available for refreshments and anglers will be lured to the open fishing (no permit required) at the Lower Swan Pond. There will also be big trucks on hand for children to explore.
The village also will have a tram from the New York State Fairgrounds to provide historical tours of the village led by Mayor Paul Whorrall and other public officials.
“We’re going to be letting people know all about this history of the original county seat of Onondaga County,” Whorrall said.
The first Swan Fest took place a year ago, and Whorrall said he hopes this festival will build on last year’s success.
“Hopefully, it will be a beautiful day,” he said. “We think it will be a great event for everybody.”
