Ever wonder what goes on behind the gates of the Anheuser Busch Brewery in Lysander? Now’s your chance to explore the world of beer making with one of the world’s largest breweries while helping to free the world from the pain and suffering of cancer. The American Cancer Society’s 5th Annual Hops for Hope event returns on Nov. 3 and tickets are now available.
Held in conjunction with the Budweiser Brewery, this unique event brings attendees inside the gates for an exclusive tour, a delicious dinner catered by Bull & Bear, and the chance to sample the variety of products Budweiser offers. In addition, there will be live music by the Mere Mortals and raffle prizes. Attendees must be 21 or over and have valid ID.
“Hops for Hope is a chance for the community to support the mission of the American Cancer Society, while enjoying an evening out with friends,” said Martha Ryan, the American Cancer Society’s senior director for community engagement. “Funds raised help programs and services for patients right here in Central New York. I remind anyone touched by cancer, you are not alone! The American Cancer Society is here to help.”
This year, guests will hear from Honorary event chair Dan Wood, a young cancer survivor who faced his diagnosis when he was only 24. During treatment he used many of ACS’s services and now enjoys helping make these available to others and continuing the fight for a cure.
Funds raised through Hops for Hope support the American Cancer Society’s mission of helping people stay well and get well, of finding cures, and of fighting back. Programs such as Look Good Feel Better, Road to Recovery, and Hope Lodge are available to patients thanks to the community’s support of events such as Hops for Hope.
Hops for Hope will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Budweiser Brewery in Lysander. Tickets are still available for $75 per person by visiting
