LIVERPOOL — Community members can now walk through the doors of the Liverpool Public Library during business hours in the village of Liverpool for an LPL Express Visit without first making an appointment.
Capacity in the main room and Children’s Room is now being monitored by density meters. Screens stationed inside the library’s doors on Tulip and Second streets show how many people can still enter the library safely according to state and health department guidelines. Safety protocols remain. Masks are required, and social distancing remains in both rooms of the library. If the capacity cap has been reached, patrons will be asked to wait in the lobby until somebody leaves and the number on the meter goes down.
Patrons can also check the density counter from home on the library website at lpl.org/about-lpl/about-us/liverpool-public-library-occupancy-preview/. That website page also includes a chart marking hourly attendance averages.
Once inside the main rooms, patrons can sign up to reserve a computer at the self-checkout station. Computer use will be limited to a single, one-hour session per patron per day. The small study rooms must also be reserved, either by calling 315-457-0310 or asking at the Information @ LPL desk when inside the library.
Library officials ask that patrons browsing in the rooms be considerate about the length of their stay so others in the community also can use the facility.
Patrons are requested to follow staff instructions during their visit.
Curbside service Grab It & Go: LPL Garage Holds Pickup remains available. Please call 315-457-0310 to make an appointment to pick up your holds, and you’ll be notified when they’re ready.
