Fans of the creativity, artwork and, yes, attractive results of the longtime Liverpool Public Library August event Tie-Dye on the Lawn can’t gather to celebrate and stir imaginations on the corner of Tulip and Second streets this year because of COVID-19.
Veteran Children’s and Family Services librarian Laurel Sharp wouldn’t let 2020 go by without providing an opportunity for tie-dye lovers to perhaps learn something new and let the colors flow.
Sharp has put together the video Tie Dye Paper.
Folks who watch on the LPL Facebook page or YouTube channel will find her instructions on how to use paper to make artwork in the patterns that have adorned T-shirts and clothing items for generations.
Sharp folds copy paper and paper towels to create the shapes and designs. The dyes sit in her muffin tin, awaiting their chance to make an impression.
Sharp’s video marks the beginning of this exciting new season of virtual events that can be accessed via LPL.org and our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms.
