Spring is officially here! Soon we’ll be able to open the windows to let fresh air in, and the ground will dry out enough for us to begin work in our lawns and gardens. Until that happens though, there are probably plenty of indoor projects you’d like to tackle — time for some spring cleaning.
So, where should you begin?
Before you roll up your sleeves and get to work, it’s best to have a plan. Carrie Luteran, owner of Pretty Neat Solutions, is an interior designer and organization expert who helps her clients do just that. But you don’t have to be a client to benefit from Carrie’s expertise.
Carrie will be at NOPL Brewerton Library for a series of programs filled with tips and tricks to help you organize and de-clutter.
Why is it so hard to get rid of certain things? At 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, the first class in the series will focus on how to manage your feelings about those hard-to-part-with items, and there will be ideas for how to hang on to and preserve memories while letting go of sentimental things.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, Carrie will return to share the four-step process of de-cluttering that she uses with clients, including low- and no-cost items that can be used to set up storage systems and tips for effective filing.
Once your home is clutter-free, how can you maintain it with the constant flow of mail and other items into your home? That’s what Carrie will discuss at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, during the final class.
These are free to attend and everyone is welcome to join us for one or all of the sessions, but due to limited space registration is recommended. To register, visit nopl.org/events or call (315) 676-7484.
