The Cazenovia Preservation Foundation (CPF) will hold its annual meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, in the St. Peter’s Church Parish Hall at 10 Mill St. The public is invited.
At the meeting, Bob Beck, author and chair of the Rail/Trail Task Force in the Town of Dryden, will present the story of teamwork and tenacity leading to the protection of Malloryville Bog. An evolutionary biologist by training, Beck has taught animal behavior and natural history. He also leads field trips for the Nature Conservancy and Finger Lakes Land Trust.
Also at the meeting, CPF will present awards to six local projects that have contributed to or protected the valued historic or community character of the Cazenovia area. Awardees for the 2016 year include Eryn and Shane Ossont (6 South St.), Brian Coughlin (8 Hurd St.), St. Peter’s Church, Cazenovia Garden Club, Eddie Green (posthumously) and Barbara Bartlett.
