The Baldwinsville Central School District Board of Education is seeking candidates to fill the seat vacated by Christina Pavetto Bond, who resigned from the BOE Oct. 26.
A statement from the district said Bond, who was elected BOE president in July 2020, resigned for personal reasons.
“Christy always put our students first, and her presence on the school board will be missed,” Superintendent Matthew McDonald said.
At its Nov. 2 meeting, the BOE elected Jennifer Patruno as its next president. Patruno was first elected to the board in 2017 and re-elected earlier this year. Her term as president ends June 30, 2021.
Bond was appointed to the BOE in December 2014 after the resignation of then-board member Burrill Wells. She served three years as vice president on the board and was elected president in July 2020.
The board is seeking applicants to fill Bond’s seat. Interested candidates must send a cover letter and resume to Interim District Clerk Debra Miller c/o Baldwinsville Central School District, 29 E. Oneida St., Baldwinsville, NY 13027, by 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18. The board will review applications and hold interviews at a later date.
Eligible candidates must be:
• A citizen of the United States
• 18 years of age or older
• A resident of the Baldwinsville Central School District for at least one year.
The term for this BOE seat expires May 18, 2021, the date of the next annual school board election. In order to continue in the position, the appointee would need to run for a three-year term in May.
