George J. Link, Jr, 91, of Baldwinsville passed away Dec. 25, 2019, at home. He graduated from Oneonta State College with a degree in teaching and then got his master’s degree in administration from SU. George (and Betty) were avid beach goers and took many family vacations to Myrtle Beach. Upon his retirement, George and Betty vacationed in Hilton Head, Cape Cod and North Myrtle Beach, all becoming like second homes to them. They met and made many lasting friendships wherever their travels took them. Both George and Betty were pioneers in advocating for deaf children and their families in the Syracuse area. They both will be remembered as a team that was full of life, love, humor and an ever-present helping hand.
George was predeceased by his wife and best friend of 66 years, Betty, (who passed in 2017), and his parents, George and Margaret Link. George is survived by his children, Laurinda (David Nosewicz) Dykes, Timothy Link and Peggy Link; grandchildren Jennifer (Cory), Jessica (Vince), Joey, Anderson and Ethan and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Thomas; his sister Grayce and numerous nieces and nephews.
