Lois Hierholzer Gleason Blumer, 80, of Jordan, passed away on Jan. 29, 2018, at Crest Manor in Fairport, N.Y. Born in Auburn to Edwin and Cecelia (Sullivan) Hierholzer, Lois grew up in Jordan and graduated from Jordan High School in 1955.
After graduation, she was employed as an engineering clerk at New York Telephone. She resided from 1967 to 1983 in Macedon, N.Y., where she had worked as an A/V technician for Palmyra-Macedon Schools.
Lois returned to Jordan in 1983. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society, a member of the Jordan Social Club, and a faithful supporter of the Jordan High School alumni. She enjoyed bowling, baking, and traveling.
She was predeceased by her husbands, James F. Gleason in 1977, and Terrance D. Blumer in 2005. Survivors are five daughters, Patricia (David) Gleason-Wynn of Arlington, TX, Kathryn (Mark) Gleason-Terra of Melrose, N.Y., Monica (Jack) Gleason-Potter of Macedon, Kim Rouse of Jordan and Kelly (David) LaVancha of Jordan; five sons, Michael (Lisa) Gleason of Arlington, TX, Michael (Beth) Blumer of Jordan, Doug Blumer of Jordan, Dan Blumer of Memphis, N.Y., and Eric (Dawn) Blumer of Jordan; one brother, James (Sheila) Hierholzer of Baldwinsville; one sister, Norma Emerson of Waterville; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, 10 Genesee St, Camillus. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at noon on Thursday, Feb. 1, at St. Patrick’s Church in Jordan. Spring burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Weedsport.
