CAZENOVIA — The Cazenovia League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum for the three candidates running for the Cazenovia Town Board.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Cazenovia Public Library Community Room.
The candidates are Mark Braiman, Libertarian; Sheila Fallon, Republican; and Jimmy Golub, Democrat. Each candidate was asked to submit a brief biographical statement.
Mark Braiman
Mark Braiman grew up outside Rochester and has resided at 4775 East Lake Rd. in Cazenovia since 2001 with his husband, Alan Stillman, and their son, Dusten Blake, a 2009 graduate of Cazenovia High School whom they fostered and adopted starting in 2003. Besides being currently active in Cazenovia Rotary and the Cazenovia Counterpoint Music Festival, Braiman is a retired full professor of chemistry/biochemistry at Syracuse University and was an assistant and associate professor at the University of Virginia from 1988-98, where his entire career’s teaching and research focused on solar energy storage in natural systems and in artificial photosynthesis.
Sheila Fallon
Sheila Fallon was raised in Cazenovia and has lived here most of her life. She loves Cazenovia and believes that her many years of experience practicing law has prepared her to be a strong advocate for the people of the town.
Jimmy Golub
Jimmy Golub has lived in Cazenovia for the last 40 years, operating a pumpkin and sweet corn farm known as Our Farm. He lives with his wife Janine and has two daughters now living in Brooklyn and Nairobi, Kenya who both went through the Cazenovia school system.
Audience members will be given the opportunity to submit written questions that will be answered by all three candidates.
The town board election will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Check with the Madison County Board of Elections for Town of Cazenovia polling sites. Early voting begins on Saturday, Oct. 28, and the only polling site is at St. Paul’s Methodist Church on Sayles Street in Oneida.
