BALDWINSVILLE — While most candidates could breathe a sigh of relief — or defeat — as the ballots were counted on election night, Nov. 2, Lysander town councilor candidates Andrew Mahaffy and Kevin Rode will have to wait for absentee ballots to decide their fates.
Rode led election night with a margin of 62 votes, but 232 absentee ballots are yet to be tallied. According to the BOE, 84 of those absentee voters are registered Democrats, 95 are registered Republicans and 46 are not enrolled in a party.
