VILLAGE OF FAYETTEVILLE – Fayetteville residents will have another opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed Waterside Commons development on Monday, April 12, when the village’s board of trustees holds a public hearing on a zone change for the project.
The four-story mixed-use development facing East Genesee Street, as currently planned, would include 30 apartments, a 5,215-square-foot restaurant and dining space presumed to incorporate seating for up to 100 people, a 2,335-square-foot tenant space assumed at the moment to be a hair salon with six customer stations, and a 1,860-square-foot tenant space with a yet-to-be-determined occupant.
The site plans presently includes 121 parking spaces, six of them handicapped-accessible. At recent meetings, trustees have questioned whether the allotted parking is sufficient for the size of the development.
Recent changes to the proposal include a reduction of the development from five stories to four and the inclusion of a right-in/ right-out on Highbridge Street.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and can be accessed through a livestream link on the village’s website.
