Van Buren Highway Superintendent Doug Foster has been re-elected to his position with 1,633 votes, or 65.29 percent of votes cast.
The Republican incumbent received 1,633 votes (65.29 percent). Todd McIntyre, a Republican challenger running on the Conservative line, received 857 votes (34.27 percent).
“I really appreciate everybody that got out to vote. Hopefully I’ll continue to do a good job and earn their support,” Foster said. “For any residents that didn’t vote for me, get in touch with my office and we’ll see what I can do to help you [with any issues or concerns].”
The other offices up for election in Van Buren were uncontested. Town Supervisor Claude Sykes retained his seat with 2,215 votes. Town Justice Edward Van Der Water, also running unopposed, was re-elected with 2,294 votes.
The three incumbent, unopposed councilors of the Van Buren Town Board were re-elected as well.The final poll numbers for the town board race were as follows:
- Pat Dickman: 2,148 votes
- Ron Dudzinski: 2,114 votes
- Darcie Lesniak: 1,945 votes
Bush elected to county legislature
Republican Ken Bush has been elected to the Onondaga County Legislature for the 13th District. Bush, a Republican, received 4,104 votes.
“I am humbled and appreciative of the support from the voters. I will work hard for my neighbors and bring transparency to county government,” Bush said.
Bush has served as the Elbridge Town Supervisor for 15 years and is the owner of Bush Funeral Homes.
Incumbent Derek Shepard, also a Republican, suspended his campaign for re-election after losing the Sept. 12 Republican primary to Bush.
The 13th District includes the towns of Van Buren and Elbridge and portions of the town of Camillus.
