My name is Michael M. Bryant, age 58, and I am seeking re-election to a second term as the Lysander town judge. I am a Baldwinsville native and have been a Central New York resident for my entire life, excepting my time as a college student and my time on active duty with the U.S. Army. I am self-employed as an attorney, practicing here in Central New York for over 25 years. My wife Randi and I are blessed with a son, Kyle, age 15.
I have been endorsed by the Republican Party, Conservative Party, Independence Party, and the Onondaga County Veterans’ Party.
Why are you running for office?
Serving as our town judge for the past four years has been both professionally and personally rewarding. I would be honored to have your support to continue serving the residents of our town.
Why are you the best candidate?
Being a town judge is much like being a parent. One has to be a good listener with an abundance of patience, a plate full of compassion, and perhaps most importantly, fair and firm. I will continue to bring these important skills to the bench.
What are the major issues facing the town, and what will you do to address them?
While I am sensitive to the issues facing our community, and may consider those issues in making a decision, as a judicial candidate, it would be improper for me to express a predisposition, or specifically comment on matters that may come before me.

Biographical info:
I grew up and attended public schools in Baldwinsville. After graduating form Lehigh University, I worked for General Electric in their financial management program and then attended and graduated from the SUNY Buffalo Law School.
I returned to Baldwinsville and opened a general law practice in the village in the 1980s. Each year for the last 15 years I have been appointed the acting justice for the village of Baldwinsville, being on call for arraignments at all hours.
My wife Sally (Weston) and I have been married for 24 years and have three girls; Eliza is a senior at Baker, Claire attends SUNY Oneonta and Holly just graduated from RIT. Both my parents and Sally’s parents have been active in the Baldwinsville community. We have resided in Radisson since 2003 and have had a good life here. I am proud and grateful to have been selected by the Lysander Democrats as their candidate.
Why are you running for office?
My many years of both civil and criminal law representation as well as my 15 years as acting justice have provided me with a deep understanding of the law, the people and the issues coming before the justice court. I believe as Lysander justice I would make a positive contribution to my community doing work that I enjoy.
Why are you the best candidate?
I will dispense justice in a fair-minded and impartial manner. As a self-employed attorney living and working in the town of Lysander, I have the flexibility and the availability to make the court more accessible to the public.
What are the major issues facing the town, and what will you do to address them?
The biggest issues facing the town are the same issues that plague our region: slow economic growth, high property taxes and an aging population. A well-run and impartial court system can help make Lysander a more livable and attractive community.
