A public meeting regarding the proposed Central New York Wetlands Mitigation Banking program will be held next week at the Town of DeWitt Community Room. The meeting will be held by David Bottar, executive director of the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board, and Danial Spethmann, managing partner of Working Lands Investment Partners.
The meeting will include a presentation of the preliminary information of a feasibility study by Working Lands Investment Partners regarding the purpose of establishing a wetlands mitigation bank, the process by which a wetlands bank is created and the expected outcomes of establishing a program in Central New York. Specific information will be presented at the meeting regarding wetlands mitigation banks that are currently in operation across the country along with information about a proposed demonstration pilot site in the town of Dewitt.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 20 in the Town of Dewitt Community Meeting Room, 148 Sanders Creek Parkway in East Syracuse.
