The Fenner Town Board last week held its first meeting of the new year, during which the board made its annual organizational appointments.
Few changes were made from the appointments made last January for the 2014 year. The biggest change for 2015 was that the relatively new town clerk, Paula Douglas, was appointed to the two municipal positions typically help by the clerk: registrar of vital statistics and zoning and planning clerk.
Douglas was was appointed town clerk last November to fill the remaining term of office for then-Clerk Joanne Buyea, who retired.
During the board’s Jan. 8 organizational meeting, Douglas also appointed Buyea as her deputy town clerk.
Other changes from the 2014 town appointments included Gregory Gavula being named to the town grievance board, replacing Andrew Bishop, and the amount of money allowed to be spent on town purchases without the approval of the town board was reduced from $2,500 to $500.
2015 appointments that remained the same from last year included:
—Hannah Strack as deputy supervisor
—Dave Jones as town budget officer
—Roger Cook as zoning and codes officer
—Jim Stokes as town attorney
—Gerald A Davies as town historian
—Gary Gardner as dog control officer
—Maravene Marion as secretary to the supervisor and town bookkeeper
—Rhonda Weigand as town assessor
The board also agreed to keep its monthly meeting schedule the same as it was in 2014. The board will meet on the second Thursday of every month in a split schedule, meeting at 12:30 p.m. January through March, and at 8 p.m. April through December.
