TOWN OF DEWITT — The DeWitt Police Department reports that multiple vehicles have been stolen within the town’s boundaries over the past few weeks.
The same suspect has been found responsible for every one of these thefts, with the town police arresting 37-year-old Robby Robinson of Clay three separate times for stealing three different vehicles on three different dates.
Robinson committed thefts at two Byrne Dairy locations, specifically the one at 6215 Thompson Road in DeWitt on Feb. 9 and the one at 326 W. Manlius St. in East Syracuse on Feb. 18 and March 4.
Robinson was also arrested by the Manlius Police Department on Feb. 7 for operating a vehicle stolen on the same day from Shop City Plaza in Lyncourt.
In each of these incidents, the vehicles were left running and unattended with keys in the ignition, police said. Robinson was arraigned in court and released on his own recognizance in each instance.
The DeWitt Police Department urges motorists to avoid leaving their running vehicles unattended, to always lock their doors, to take the keys with them, and to also not keep valuable items in plain view inside their vehicle.
