State police in LaFayette today arrested Donald H. Gwynn, 46, of Oran Delphi Road in Pompey and charged him with arson in the second degree, a class B felony, in connection with a fire he allegedly set at a house on Ridge Road in the town of Fabius.
According to police, at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, Gwynn intentionally set fire to an occupied residence at 1644 Ridge Road in the Town of Fabius. The three occupants of the residence were awakened by the smell of smoke and were able to escape unharmed. The Fabius Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The structure sustained minor damage.
Gwynn was involved in a domestic dispute earlier in the evening with an individual that was staying at the residence, police stated.
Gwynn was arraigned in the Town of Pompey Court before Judge Cognetti and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center in lieu of $100,000 cash/$200,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear on Oct. 18 in the Town of Fabius Court for a felony preliminary hearing.
