Corso’s Cookies, the Geddes-based bakery known for its decorated sugar cookies, has opened its new factory in the village of North Syracuse.

Village Clerk-Treasurer Dianne Kufel said the factory officially opened in the former Maines Plaza — now known as “Corso’s Plaza” — at 628 Main St. on Friday, Jan. 10.

Corso’s Cookies are sold at national retailers such as Target, Walmart and Publix; online retailers ProFlowers and Shari’s Berries; and on the QVC shopping network.

The bakery announced in July 2019 that it would move to the former Maines Food & Party Warehouse store, which closed in 2017.

Corso’s Cookies was running out of room in its 12,500-square-foot Lakeland bakery and 12,000-square-foot packaging facility. The former Maines store is about 34,000 square feet.

Corso’s Cookies also plans to open a retail outlet in North Syracuse by April 2020.

Check back in the coming weeks for details about a formal ribbon cutting for Corso’s Cookies.
