Shelley Hoffman has been selected as the 2019 Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) Business Person of the Year. Awarded since 1988, the Business Person of the Year honors an individual who has demonstrated integrity, accomplishments in business, and business, civic, and/or corporate leadership.
Hoffman is a New York State Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker and co-owner of 315 Realty Partners, a boutique real estate firm in Baldwinsville, and is certified by the New York Department of State as a real estate educator. She is also co-owner of Passion Into Profits, a consulting business that helps small businesses and not-for-profits realize their dreams in a profitable and sustainable manner. In 2018, she founded Heart, Home & Community, a Baldwinsville-based project connecting residents, businesses, and organizations with the goal of creating a better, more vibrant community in which to live and work.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Hoffman is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in English education. When she moved to Baldwinsville over 10 years ago, she immediately experienced the sense of this tight knit, supportive community, and sought out ways to get involved. Hoffman is an active member of Baldwinsville Rotary and the Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce, is a trustee of Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church, and a volunteer with Baldwinsville Public Access Channel, PAC-B TV.
Renee Newton, owner of La Tresse by Renee and GBCC vice president, nominated Hoffman for the award.
“So many Baldwinsville organizations benefit from Shelley’s time and talent in addition to the many hours she works in her own businesses,” Newton said in her letter of nomination. “She is always looking for ways to connect people with one another, including the videos she records for PAC-B TV highlighting the people, groups, and the uniqueness of Baldwinsville.”
According to GBCC executive director MaryAnne Williams, “Shelley Hoffman is a positive force in our community. If she says she will do something, she does so and then goes above and beyond. She leads by example, with enthusiasm and integrity; Shelley brings out the best in others, both in business and in community activities.”
Hoffman will be honored at the GBCC annual meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at The Red Mill Inn.
