The Avicolli’s II moving into the former Grover’s Table restaurant space in Fayetteville will feature minimal exterior changes in keeping with historic preservation standards, but will feature takeout, seasonal outdoor eating and of course, a new pizza oven, according to site plans presented at the last Fayetteville Planning Board meeting.
Plans for the second Avicolli’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria, presented on Monday, Sept. 10, show dinning on the east side of the restaurant, a bar on the west side and a pizza oven for specialized pizzas. There will also be takeout, but there will be no special takeout parking spaces. All booths from the bar area will also be removed and replaced with tables.
According to conceptual site drawings, the front of the building was planned to be gray with yellow (or green) sides and new yellow awnings, but after additional review by the Historic Preservation Committee on Wednesday, Sept. 12, the current building colors will remain as is, and the awnings will be black.
Avicolli’s II will be open seven days a week — 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Once a special use permit is submitted for the project, a public hearing will be set by the planning board.
The next planning board meeting with be held on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Fayetteville Town Hall.
