General Motors (GM) presented the 2015 GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award to Marquardt Switches, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of switches, sensors and controls for the automotive industry. A ceremony took place at Marquardt’s North American Headquarters in Cazenovia on Thursday, June 2.
The award recognizes GM suppliers that have met a rigorous set of criteria, including 100 percent on-time deliveries and zero product defects for 12 continuous months. The standards at which GM holds its award winners are so demanding that only a select few suppliers qualified for the award.
Steven Stearns, Manager of Supplier Quality, spoke on behalf of GM and expressed his gratitude towards each employee for working diligently to ensure consistent quality in every product at every step of the product’s progression.
“It’s individual engagement all the time, and [Marquardt] Cazenovia is a great example of how that can be done,” Stearns said. “Thank you again for your efforts, and we look forward to a long-lasting relationship between General Motors and Marquardt.”
Marquardt Cazenovia produces capacitive touch, accessory switch bank and CD cover switches for GM. Marquardt is also currently developing several new programs for General Motors’ 2019 model year vehicles.
