The Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce has selected MaryAnne Williams as its new executive director. Williams began in her new role earlier this month. She succeeds Sharon Reiser, who served as the GBCC’s executive director for four years.
Williams received her B.S. in general business from Carson-Newman University in Johnson City, Tenn., and her master’s in business administration from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Prior to her job with the GBCC, Williams was a stay-at-home parent. She has also worked in project management for clinical trials.
Williams is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and has lived in the village of Baldwinsville with her husband, James Miller, and 12-year-old son, Aidan, since December 2009.
“We really like living in the village. I’ve never lived in a place where you can walk anywhere,” she said.
Williams said she and her family “try to do as much as we can in the village,” not only for the convenience but also to support local business. As executive director of the GBCC, she hopes to attract new businesses to the chamber and improve networking among the current members.
“Business owners need a bit of extra support from people who know what they’re going through,” Williams said of the chamber’s mission.
She said she hopes to make Baldwinsville “an even better vibrant community.”
