Beverly Marris named Nelson citizen of the year

The Town of Nelson and the Erieville Nelson Heritage Society have announced that Beverly Marris of Erieville is the 2016 Norman Odell Citizen of the Year. This award is given for volunteer work in the community.

Starting in the 1970s as the Town Historian and chairman of the 1976 Bicentennial Committee up to her membership in the 2016 Sunshine Club, Marris has always been active in her community. She has been a member of the Cornell Club, a Sunday school teacher, a superintendent of the Sunday School, worked many church dinners and barbecues and helped with the walk-a-thon to raise money for children to go to camp.

All are invited to attend the reception at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Erieville Fire Hall in Erieville.
