On Oct. 18 at the Storer Auditorium at Onondaga Community College, a naturalization ceremony was held to swear in 80 candidates from 29 countries as American citizens.
The Honorable David E. Peebles will presided over the ceremony.
Among those sworn in was Juhudi Boazi from the Congo.
Boazi is a 2021 graduate of Syracuse ITC who will earn his mechanical technology degree here this December.
“This is a very special day for me and my family. I’m the first in my family to be an American citizen. I’m very happy,” he said.
